Hype: Washed Out!

There is a hot new soloist coming from the depths of southern Georgia. His genre isn’t hip-hop, or jazz, nor is it even indie; it is a slew of electro-fied, “glow-fied” demos coming from an unsuspecting 20-year-old who is taking the internet music blogosphere by storm.

To put it in perspective, his Myspace went from 18,000 hits to over 100,000 hits in less than two months. This is the direct result of internet buzz and praise from independent music hubs such as Pitchfork Media and Stereogum.

Washed Out, or Ernest Greene, spends his time in his bedroom mixing tapes and pursposfully reducng its sound quality to produce the desired “low-fi” sound.

When listening to his music, you feel as if you are in a dream in which you eat magic candy non-stop.
