The Winter Weather

The Sophomore/Varsity basketball game pitting Decatur MacArthur vs. Urbana was rescheduled to January 20. Decatur didn’t have school that day, which is part of why the game was postponed, but the real reason prep (high school) sports in the area have been postponed in the area is obviously the weather.
Unlike other smaller schools in the area (Mahomet-Seymour, St. Joseph-Ogden, etc.), Urbana, Centennial, and Central all had school on Friday. This was probably because Urbana and Champaign have city workers to shovel the snow, and they got it done.
Temperatures have felt like they have not gotten above 10 degrees Fahrenheit, which has caused the snow to stay, and looks like it will stay a lot longer. |
