A week of bombings and violence continues with an explosion in a third-floor coffee shop in Baghdad Thursday night around 10 p.m.
At least 27 people were killed and 51 were injured, said city police officials. Four children were among the dead.
The bomb, a device containing about two kilograms of highly explosive material, was placed in a plastic bag and then left in a popular billiards café in a Sunni Muslim neighborhood of Baghdad.
This is another in a series of bombings around the country leading up to its provincial elections, set for Saturday.
