MTV-VMA-2013promo

1. Miley Cyrus
The former disney channel star took to the VMA stage to perform and many were shocked. Emerging from a giant teddy bear with her tongue in sight, Cyrus began her performance. She started by singing her song “We Can’t Stop” up until Robin Thicke came onstage. Then, Thicke and Cyrus started singing Thicke’s song, “Blurred Lines”. Then, the part that everyone is talking about, Cyrus started twerking and using a foam finger. The performance continued and Rapper 2 Chainz ended up in the mix as well.

2. Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga has showed up to awards shows in very interesting ways before. For example, in an egg or wearing a meat dress. However, this time she appeared normal, as she started to perform her new song “Applause”. By the end of her performance, she wasn’t wearing much, and there was a lot showing.

3. N SYNC
Justin Timberlake performed at the VMAS for the first time in six years, performing many of his old songs and his new songs too. He belted out songs like “Cry Me A River” and “Mirrors” and also brought out the other members of N SYNC to reunite and sing “Bye Bye Bye”. After his performance, he was awarded the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

4. Taylor Swift
She knew he was trouble. Taylor Swift didn’t perform at the VMAS this year, but she supposedly dissed Harry Styles. When One Direction was on stage, Swift was seen mouthing “shut the **** up”. While her friend, Ed Sheeran, has said the comment was misinterpreted, it’s impossible to know exactly what happened. Later that night, when she won Female Video of the Year, she mentioned Styles in her acceptance speech. “I also want to thank the person who inspired this song, who knows exactly who he is, because now I got one of these. Thank you so much!”

“The VMAS were very exciting, a lot happened and I enjoyed watching it,” said Junior Raine Craig.

The VMAS were full of great performances, talented people, and great music. Oh, and twerking.
