Our2ndLife Gains Web Popularity

Recently, six boys started off on their own channels on YouTube. Most of them did not know each other. They just made funny videos on their own. They all went to Vidcon one year and they met each other. On August 13,2012 they started a collab channel (a channel that multiple people post videos on), called Our2ndLife (O2L).

This channel was made up of 6 boys, Ricardo Ordieres, Jc Caylen, Ricky Dillon, Sam Pottorff, Connor Franta, and Trevor Moran. Then later Ricardo got replaced by Kian Lawley. Everyone still talks to Ricardo he just isn’t in O2L anymore. They all grew really close to each other. Each week they had a different theme, such as prank week or educational week. Each young man would still make the videos by himself, they just had a group channel. They grew close, like brothers, and they traveled to see each other because most of them lived in different states. Eventually Connor and Ricky moved together into a small house, then Kian and Jc moved in with them. Now some of their videos are collabs with each other. Trevor is the youngest out of all of them at the age of 15, the rest are between the ages of 18 and 21 Ricky being the oldest. Their hobby was about to go viral.

On December 29, 2013 they hit 1 million subscribers on YouTube. They have a huge fandom! People have twitter accounts and try to get each of the boys to follow them. Now on YouTube they have about 1,161,153 subscribers. I have made a lot of friends on twitter from just being a fan of O2L. They also are going on tour over the year 2014 with Digifest. YouTube seems to continue to be a place where ordinary people have a chance to turn into stars, one “share” and “like” at a time.
