Jared Broom

Jared Broom is a freshman and first year student here at the Echo. He’s become our go to sports guy, and is doing a fantastic job.

Why did you take journalism: “Well it’s part of the job I want, to be a sports broadcaster… if I don’t become a MLB player.”

So you’re really into sports: ”Um yeah… football, baseball, basketball, hockey. I like to watch all of those.”

Activities Outside of Journalism: Baseball and Basketball

So what do you think the best movie of all time is: “Space Jam” or “Rookie of the Year”. “90s movies in general.”

Favorite book: “That’s a hard question too… I just read Swallowing Stones. It’s about this accidental murder. It tells both sides of the story.”

Favorite food: “I don’t really have a favorite food. I like a lot of foods.”

Favorite holiday: “I think Christmas because I like hanging with my extended family… and I like presents.”
