Spotify Wrapped Brings New Features in 2025
Spotify Wrapped is a personalized synopsis of your listening experience throughout the year. Wrapped is a way for people to connect and show off their music taste to their peers. Every year Spotify changes it up with different fun statistics like “Audio Aura” in 2021 or “Sound Town” in 2023. This year, we were introduced to Listening Age and Listening Clubs.

I asked some people what their Wrapped looked like this year and here are the results:
47% Of people interviewed had 10,000 – 50,000 listening minutes
36% Were between the ages of 20-30
15% Had Soft Pop as their top genre
31% Of people interviewed were either in Cloud State Society or Soft Hearts Club
Spotify Wrapped has been controversial over the years, sometimes being called “disappointing” or “underwhelming” due to the late release date and lack of individuality within the statistics that had been so praised in years prior, but this year had a more positive response.
“I liked this year’s Spotify Wrapped. I thought the categories this year were more interesting, even though I didn’t think it was very accurate” one person said, “I also liked the Spotify Wrapped, I loved the visuals and the vibe. I particularly liked the clubs as I thought it was a fun way to connect with friends,” said junior Hannah Bouchama.
Another new feature added this year was the party system where listeners could compare Wrappeds with friends in a party of up to 10 people. It gave a competitive and more personal edge to the already enjoyable information. Themes like “Most #!@&*% Award” and “Most Compatible” brought friends together in a way Spotify hadn’t explored yet.
Junior Fionna Merritt stated, “I liked [Wrapped] this year. I thought that there were lots of new elements to it which made it more fun and interesting to experience. I did think that the friend game [Wrapped Party] was kind of lacking. I wish it wasn’t just awards being presented and instead was an actual interactive game.”
Even though some people didn’t enjoy it, there was an overall better response this year compared to 2024. It brought people together again through music and compatibility, and most people can’t wait to see next years’!
