My NFL game of the week is the New England Patriots (7-3) at the New Orleans Saints (10-0) on Monday Night Football. The Saints have been just rolling and smashing their opponents one-by-one, and looking like a team that could go all the way to a Super Bowl and undefeated season. While the Patriots have gone about their business, and are sitting on top of the division once again.

What surprises me is that Tom Brady has actually completed more passes and more yardage than Drew Brees, and overall, it seems that the Patriots have had a better offense than the Saints. The difference is that the Saints have a better defense than the Patriots do. Along with that great offense, the Saints are more balanced than the Patriots are, making it hard for match-ups on the field for the Patriots.

The Saints have gone 10-0 of course, while the Patriots have won 4 of their last 5 games. So both teams are on a roll right now, although Coach Belichick’s coaching was called into question a couple Sundays ago, because people thought he should have punted instead of going for the first down on fourth down and 2, and they ended up losing. That didn’t seem to bother him as he and his squad won last week.

Meanwhile, the Saints still probably have that pressure of trying to go 16-0 now, or at least it’s in their brain now, so that might raddle them a bit. 2 of their last 3 games have been close.

I expect the Patriots to come out determined and weave themselves through the Saints defense and Tom Brady and Drew Brees throw for a few touchdowns each, as the Patriots win, 24-21.

See ya next week!
