Lil Wayne
Weezy F. Baby a.k.a. Lil Wayne is the self proclaimed “Best Rapper Alive”. I don’t agree. Just because I disagree with this statement, it doesn’t mean I’m a “hater”. I think this for a few reasons. First of all, Lil Wayne doesn’t have much subject matter or many concepts in his songs. Also, I don’t truly believe he is much of lyricist. You might disagree, but if you think about it, Wayne doesn’t say much of anything with substance, he doesn’t make sense a lot of the time, and even though he makes a lot of witty metaphors, a lot of them are either not that good or just don’t connect with each other all that well. His wordplay is there, but it’s just a little off-par or sometimes just lazy. For example the line “I’m hot like the sun” is just very unoriginal and not that clever. That’s the kind of thing that you might hear frequently in a Wayne verse. I mean, don’t get me wrong. I do like some Lil Wayne songs like “Tie My Hands”, “Comfortable” or “Georgia Bush”, but I just think he is overrated. So I am not a “Wayne Hater” or a “Weezy Head”. I think he is a decent MC.
