Trick-or-Treating Safety

It’s October, and many people are getting excited about trick-or-treating. However, does anyone really know what’s bad about trick or treating? There are a lot of good things about trick or treating, like dressing up in costumes, hanging out with friends, getting free candy and playing pranks on other people. However, has anyone considered the down side to trick-or-treating?

While trick or treating can be fun, it can also be harmful to you. One example of how it can be dangerous is if a child goes trick-or-treating alone in a strange neighborhood and gets attacked because another group of children wanting his candy. Another instance would be if a child by chance went to a house of a sex offender and was sexually assaulted. Additionally, there’s also the chance of a child getting poisoned because he ate expired candy.

There are many reasons why trick-or-treating can be bad. A child or anyone should never trick-or-treat alone. If a child trick-or-treats with two or more other children, then there should be much less a chance of getting attacked than if they go alone. Children should always think about what might happen when they go trick-or-treating beforehand so they can take the necessary precaution to prevent it.
