Thanksgiving Day Parade
Every year a parade is held in New York for Thanksgiving. This event has been going on for 80 years! It started in 1924 and is still going. And ever year new balloons are added to the parade.
It starts at 9 a.m. at West 77th street and ends at 34th street. The most common balloons are Mickey Mouse, Barney, Sesame Street, Disney characters, Peanuts, and Felix the Cat.
Macy has guest stars every year, and this year Victoria Justice, Kanye West, Jessica Simpson, Keri Hilton, and many other celebrities were there. Almost ever year something is different with the parade, with new things added and the same traditions kept.
This year Kanye West was booed while singing on a float. The crowd was chanting Taylor Swift’s name and also called him names.
This event is great for little kids and adults. It makes a good family memory and awseome pictures to show family and friends. To me, this event is really entertaining and leaves young kids amazed. This event could leave almost anyone speechless.
