NFL Playoffs
Many surprises have already happened during the playoffs. The Green Bay Packers who went 15-1 for the regular season lost against the Giants, and the Patriots crushed the Denver Broncos. The 49ers pulled out a victory with the help of their fiery coach Jim Harbaugh and amazing tight end Vernon Davis. The tough Ravens got the win over the young Houston Texans in Baltimore, thanks to the good defense of the ball hawking, Ed Reed.
The four best teams in the entire league will battle it out next Sunday; many people are favoring the Patriots to win the big game. Freshman Alton Jones said, “I hope the Patriots win.”
The most surprising team that is still left is the New York Giants, last season they didn’t even make it to the playoffs and posted a 6-10 record.
The Ravens have gone to the playoffs every year since Joe Flacco helped the Ravens in 2008. The team plans to make it to the big game this year.
The Patriots are also a playoff regular, yet they have failed to make it to the Super Bowl since 2008. The Giants last year didn’t make it and they haven’t won a super bowl since beating the Patriots in 2008.
Before the big game the annual Pro Bowl will be played in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 29. Twenty-three players will be representing the remaining teams that didn’t make it to the Super Bowl. Last year’s special game was played in Miami, Florida. The players and fans did not really care for last year’s venue so the game will return to back to the Aloha state
Now we all have to wait till next weekend to see which teams will come out on top and go to the biggest game in North American sports.
The multi Grammy award winning recording artist Madonna, will perform in the popular halftime show. The Bridgestone Super Bowl halftime show is the most viewed musical of the year; it will be televised globally as well as the game. The Super Bowl will be played in the famous, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 5. Everyone will be watching Super Bowl XLVI.
