It finally arrives! The long overdue album “Transit of Venus” by Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. The follow up album to “Life Starts Now” takes the music to a whole new level, making the band stand out from the others. “Transit of Venus” has its share of hard rock anthems it also has more slower heart wrenching music.

Urbana High School social studies teacher, Charles Trabaris, says, “It’s a lot different from what I’m used to, but some of the songs could start to grow on me.”

Trabaris is right about that! The tracks like “Chalk Outline” and “The High Road” are perfect examples of the changes made in the band. Rather than the usually guitar solos, you can experience the rest of the instrumentals and connect with the lyrics a lot better.

The lyrics to “The High Road” are some most can relate to. It goes:
“Will you help find the right way up
Or let me take the wrong way down
Will you straighten me out or make me take the long way around
I took the low road in
I’ll take the high road out”

The lyrics talk about someone getting into a bad situation and finding their way out of it.

Despite all the changes Three Days Grace is working on, “Transit of Venus” is an amazing album. The sounds connect you closer to the band and give you something to relate to.

UHS Sophomore, Chanc McQueen, says, ” I like the lyrics and guitar of each song.”
As rock music goes, “Transit of Venus” is an amazing album and worth the buy.

  1. This is a really good review Abrianna. I liked reading it, and after you told me their new album was out I went home and searched it online. I now own a copy and love all the songs on it.
