Everyone has been talking about there being a change in the dress code here at UHS. It has been said that you will not be able to wear athletic shorts, tank tops, sweat and yoga pants, or leggings. The girls are not very fond of this idea.

Sophmore, Kristen Campbell said “It sucks that I already can’t wear the shorts that I want, and if this rumor that is going around turns out to be true and becomes part of the handbook, I think that a lot of people are going to be very upset,”

“I think that this is all just a rumor because if it actually becomes a rule there would be way more referrals, and since the staff is trying to lower the referral rate I really don’t think that they would make it a rule.” said Grace Chariya, sophomore.

All of the students know what is wrong to wear, but some want to push the limit to see how far they can get.

Principal, Mr. Stark said, “I haven’t heard about this, but it’s just a rumor. We have not talked about this becoming a rule.”

Chariya, Campbell, and Mr. Migut think that the staff isn’t consistent on enforcing the rule to all the students throughout the school.

Kristen said “If boys don’t have to go change or put on a belt when they sag, I don’t think that us girls should have to change if our shorts are just a little too short…”

Mr. Stark would like to form a committee in the spring semester with some of the students here. They could help decide what to change or if they want to change anything in the handbook.

“It would be nice for us students to have a say in what the rules are at the school,” says Campbell
