Another huge buyout has gone down!  This time it is DirecTV the one that is being purchased.

AT&T ought DirecTV for 48.5 billion dollars. The cost of the total buyout is 67 billion dollars and each shareholder would receive $95 from AT&T.

The shareholders will receive most of the money in AT&T shares and the rest in cash. AT&T will gain over 38 million subscribers in this deal. This deal changes the entire landscape of the market because AT&T already has their hand in TV and internet services now with DirecTV they will become a juggernaut and it will challenge Comcast as the leading TV provider in the country.

Unlike Comcast, DirecTV actually has 18 million customers in Latin America. This deal isn’t only good for the company but for the customer as well, AT&T has stated that they will expand their broadband, improve their internet speeds, and DirecTV will offer the same services as always
