The crosstown rival game between Urbana and Champaign Central has been moved to Saturday at 10 a.m.

Maroons athletic director Jane Stillman said Wednesday night that the change was made “out of an abundance of caution following the recent shooting” of formal Central student David Sankey.

Though this change of schedule is unusual, it could be a key factor for the Tigers. The last two day games the Tigers have played have resulted in competitive games.

Some think the early start is better for the team. Steven Thompson, senior tight end and linebacker, says, “the start helped the hot start for us because we compete better when we start early.”

The Urbana versus Danville game was a defensive battle and an all-around great game and both sides should be proud of how they performed.

Hopefully we’re in for a repeat of performance, with a different result on Saturday.
