2019-20 UHS Changes
On April 15, Principal Brown sent an email to UHS Staff detailing a list of procedural changes that will apply to the 2019-2020 school year. For those who want to be kept in the loop, read on:
No Homeroom
There will be no more homeroom. Instead, there will be 5 additional minutes in first hour to go over announcements.
Grade-level Lunch Hours
4th and 5th hour will be for freshman and sophomores while 6th hour lunch will be for juniors and seniors/
Alphabetical system for SIs and Counselors
Student interventionists and counselors will go back to being assigned alphabetically by last name instead of grade level.
Targeted 9th Grade Math/ELA Academic Support
Incoming freshman will get additional math and english help if they are 2 or more grade levels below.
Handbook
Final changes are being made to the student handbook to create a more clear and targeted referral/discipline process.
