5 “so bad its good” action movies to watch on winter break

With winter break approaching and it being COVID season, everybody needs something to keep them occupied. Why not watch some amazingly bad movies? They’re movies so bad that they’re actually entertaining.

Stave off your boredom with this list of five “so bad it’s good” action movies (listed in no particular order)!

Junior High Spy

Follow a young spy in training as he goes on a mission to save his dad. Junior High Spy has some of the worst (and best action) sequences you’ll ever see and some hilariously delivered dialogue. You’ll be on the edge of your seat when the main character’s brother has to hide from a girl swimming in a pool and he hides…in the pool…in the hotel-sized pool. It’s possibly one of the worst movies you’ll ever see but not one you’ll soon forget.

The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D

Starring a young Taylor Lautner, an old George Lopez, and nobody else notable, this is a charming family film directed by the always amazing Robert Rodriguez. But he didn’t just direct it, he also wrote, produced, shot, scored, and edited this gem of a movie. It has one of the most insane plots along with some special effects perfectly on par with 2005. And yes, 3-D is actually in the official movie title.

Spy Kids 3: Game Over

Spy Kids 3 is another insane movie directed by Robert Rodriguez and the worst of the Spy Kids trilogy, though not quite to the level of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Spy Kids 3 follows Juni Cortez as he enters the newest video game to save his sister from the game’s evil maker. Eric from the popular youtube channel Pretty Much It described Spy Kids 3 as “quite possibly the ugliest film ever made.” Despite how terrible this movie is, the cast is filled with big-name actors such as Geroge Clooney, Silvester Stalone, and Antonio Banderas.

Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2

Have you ever wondered what a buff baby beating up Jon Voight would look like? If you answered yes I’m concerned for you, but also you’re in luck. You can see that exact thing happen accompanied by a surprisingly good score in the famously bad Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2. Currently sitting at #2 on iMDB’s 100 lowest-rated movies list, you’re sure to get some laughs out of this one.

Batman Ninja

Trust me, you do not need to be a Batman fan or a superhero fan at all to enjoy Batman Ninja. It’s an insane crossover where, if you couldn’t guess, Batman is a ninja. Out of all five of these movies, this is the best by far almost solely because of the skill behind the animation. But the events that happen are just so crazy it’s hard to do anything except take a step back and laugh at the bizarreness taking place.
