New tradition: UHS hosts first-ever Hispanic Heritage Month Assembly

Friday, October 15th marks the end of Hispanic Heritage Month, but the beginning of a new tradition at UHS.

Urbana will host its first ever Hispanic Heritage Month Assembly in the Cobb Auditorium. There will be dancing, music, and testimonials about student’s experiences at UHS. Sophomore Gabriela Bautista, one of the coordinators of the assembly, said “I feel honored to participate in the first Hispanic Heritage Month since I will be able to represent my Mexican roots.”

Attendees are encouraged to wear respectful cultural attire (examples included soccer jerseys and traditional blouses). 

Attendance will be limited to 200 students so make sure you get your tickets quickly!
