When you first walk up to the counter of Jersey Mike’s subs, the setup appears to be the same as your average chain sandwich restaurant. I can assure you, however, the end result is a better, higher quality sandwich than you will find at any other chain in town.

Jersey Mike’s is located right in the heart of campus on green street, right next to Cold Stone Creamery. It is about as large inside as your average campus restaurant, with a few booths, tables of two, and many tables of four in the center.
There are many sandwiches to choose from, in the categories of “hot” and “cold.” If a hot sandwich is what you’re in the mood for, their Philly cheesesteak is certainly good. Their cold subs, however, are what I believe makes them stand out from all other places in town. Anyone can stick a sandwich with some basic ingredients into a toaster, but the guys at Jersey Mikes have mastered the art of the cold sandwich.

I ordered the number 13, the original Italian. It includes all the basic ingredients for an Italian sub such as ham, pepperoni, and provolone cheese. I ordered my sandwich on white bread, although they also offer wheat.
While the submarine sandwich is one of my favorite foods, I always dislike the process of picking my toppings. It may just be me who experiences this, but I often feel rushed to make my picks and after ordering I often feel disappointed that certain ingredients didn’t make the cut. Jersey Mike’s however, has a solution to this: “Mike’s way.” As they move your sandwich down the line to the toppings bar, the employees are trained to ask, “Do you want that Mike’s Way?”

“Mike’s Way” is a special combination of condiments, vegetables, spices, and sauces that employees suggest for the most enjoyable sub. I decided to try my sub Mike’s Way, and that decision was what really made the sandwich for me; the blend of onions, oregano, vinegar, lettuce, and more made the sandwich extremely flavorful. The oregano especially added a distinct taste that blended wonderfully with the ham and pepperoni, while the vinegar added a tasty, softer texture to the fresh white bread.

While waiting in line there is also a variety of bagged chips to chose from.
The drink fountain has a variety of options including Jersey Mike’s own fresh brewed flavored ice tea.

My sandwich was extremely flavorful, and stuffed with plenty of fresh meat and cheese. I was extremely satisfied with my meal, and the serving size is certainly sufficient. The oregano stood out the most to me and I suggest it to anyone who orders the Italian sub.

Jersey Mike’s has an exciting location in the heart of Green Street, a nice atmosphere, a variety of tastes, and helpful and friendly employees who make a outstanding sub. I would recommend Jersey Mike’s to anyone who loves a good sandwich.
