Los Angeles was home to both equally beautiful and distasteful red carpet looks on Sunday Feb. 8 2015 at the Grammy Awards.

There was a collective agreement that this year’s best looks were Gwen Stefani, Taylor Swift, and Nicki Minaj, according to Us Weekly Magazine. Stefani’s Atelier Versace black jumpsuit showcased her funky yet glam personality.

“I like how she chose something different rather than a typical dress,” said Alyssa Sullivan, sophomore.

Swift’s ombré Elie Saab high-low ball gown was vibrantly fresh against her past Grammy’s fashion statements.

“I like the flow, the color, and how it’s shaped,” said Kayla Walker, junior.

Minaj wore a cleavage-bearing Tom Ford dress with sequined fringe, keeping it simple as opposed to her previous looks.

My own personal favorites were Zendaya, Miley Cyrus, and Rihanna. Zendaya maintains her spunky style in a one-shoulder, multi-colored, striped Vivienne Westwood dress. Her hair is always her main accessory as she sported a pixie-cut wig that allowed her ensemble to shine.

Miley Cyrus jumped into 2015 with a sleek, stylish start with a classic black cutout gown by Alexandre Vauthier Couture.

Rihanna excels at every event, but she easily took best dressed in my opinion. Her “red velvet cupcake”, stated by TV Guide, Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown received mixed notions, but its simple yet stunning design outshined the entire award show in general.

The top worst dressed were Madonna, Charli XCX, and Kim Kardashian, according to Us Weekly.

Madonna’s Givenchy lingerie-esque number was too busy, but a typical Madonna outfit.

Charli XCX wore a white Moschino tuxedo which she accessorized with a pink fur wrap and bow tie. Charli is known for her 90s inspired taste, but could’ve done better.

Kim Kardashian continued her “revamped” 2015 fashion with a gold embellished Jean Paul Gaultier robe. Kardashian’s ensemble would’ve been better staying on the runway.
