The UHS wrestling team has set high goals this year, including winning twin city, Big 12 and have more team wins then loses. With head Coach Charles Trabaris and Assistant Coach Mike Martin the team hopes to meet these goals.

Even though the team lost six seniors, including Caleb Blaney, who made it to the state tournament, they are still having a strong season. The team has started off a good season, beating Charleston and Decatur Eisenhower. They also came close to beating Danville, Decatur MacArthur and Rantoul.

The state meet is in February and, hopefully, Jerae Murphy, Chad Blaney, Cameron Mammen and Joseph Redmon will all make it. “They are all tough competitors and great leaders to have in the practice room,” said Coach Trabaris.

The team’s next meet is Friday, December 18 against Central, Danville and Bloomington. Their next home meet is January 13.
