Eminem’s new album “Recovery” is a follow-up to his 2007 album “Relapse,” although “Relapse,”
had some hit tracks on it “Recovery” pushes the 2007 top-seller into the shadows of the past.
Eminem has struggled through drug addictions and a ton of family problems, but the biggest problem
of them all was probably losing his best friend DeShaun “Proof” Holton. Proof died in 2006 and
Eminem has struggled through the grief of his death, and he even dedicated the entire “Recovery”
album to Proof.

The tracks on this album are packed with a ton of emotions and it is intertwined
with Eminem’s emotions but also it can speak to the fans. Eminem has come back stronger than ever
and it seems that no one can stop him now. Each verse laced with rage, pain, grief, and humorous
metaphors and similes. Em spits and raps about things that everyone can go through daily, and his
music has helped people out of some pretty dark places. As always Eminem never leaves out one
comment or smart remark and frankly he doesn’t care who it offends. He speaks his mind loud and clear.

A few of my favorites are: W.T.P., No Love (Ft. Lil Wayne), So Bad, You’re Never Over. Each one of these tracks has some type of meaning behind it, whether it be people hating on his music or love. Eminem seems to have changed a lot since “The Slim Shady LP” since back in 1999. His beats and verses have certainly upgraded since back them.
Now I’ll give you a rundown of the tracks:
W.T.P.-White Trash Party is the song you will most likely here in the underground clubs, it has that
type of bang in this beat like his other famous song “The Real Slim Shady.” Em laces this song with
a ton of humorous lyrics that really makes you get hyped up. He really portrays the “white trash”
in this song, he spits, “You the baddest little chain with the blades I ever saw. Coleslaw containers,
empty straw wrappers and all. You got more junk in your trunk than I do in my car. Now get up!” The
bass is enough to blow out your speakers and it is an amazing song to just listen to at anytime.

You’re Never Over- Eminem actually sings in this, and it is dedicated to Proof and you can tell that
Em is grieving in these lyrics. Eminem spits out his true feelings about how Proof was the mostly
who believed in him when he was starting into the rap business. This track will truly bring tears
to your eyes.

So Bad- Great track. My favorite out of the whole entire album and it is a great way to start into
the 17 track album. This track has some crude vulgar humor. The lyrics fuse carnal intentions and a
wide cluster of humor that is requesting a couple giggles.
This album in my opinion is extremely mind-blowing, Em leaves you dumbstruck. His similes, metaphors,
fearlessness, and meaningful yet humorous verses leave you thinking “He’s done it again.”
