Shaquille O’Neal Invests in the Sacramento Kings

On September 25, 2013 former Los Angeles center Shaquille O’Neal, bought a minority share of the Sacramento Kings basketball franchise. The news was reported by sports news engines such as ESPN, and publications like USA Today. Though relations between Shaq and the Kings go back to the 2002 NBA finals, where Shaq dominated over the Kings, Shaq looks to contribute much to the King’s franchise.

The moment Shaq became part of the Sacramento Kings franchise the term “Shaqramento,” arose on ESPN headlines. Junior Isaiah Sullivan Says that “Shaq’s decision to get involved with the NBA franchise in general,” would shed a new light in the NBA. Sullivan also says “Shaq has always been a fun person to be around, so the Kings have got it good.” Shaq, who now prefers to be referred to as Dr. O’Neal, after receiving his doctoral degree in education, was known for his humor on and off the court. Now that he’s retired, he’s become involved with the Business side of the NBA.

Sacramento kings center Demarcus Cousins, who was drafted out of Kentucky, became a bigger part of the Kings franchise, when Shaq declared his ownership in the Sacramento Kings franchise. Cousins looks to receive great advice from the 19 year veteran, in the beginnings of his young NBA career With his former experience playing his position, Shaq looks forward to mentoring Cousins in his young career. According to USA Today he [Shaq] has been “constant in his support of Cousins.”
