Urbana High School’s drama club puts on a few plays each year. This year it’s only two because they are so big. There is one in the fall and in the spring. The students have been working really hard on memorizing their lines and building the set.

Stage Manager and sophomore, Grace Chariya says, “The actors are usually very focused and they work hard and they want to put on the best show they can.”

It is very hard to keep up with homework and studying for school when you’re involved in the play. You spend so much time working on the play that there isn’t a lot of time for anything else.

Actor and Sophomore, Jessica Lynch says “I spend about 10 hours a week just going through the play to make sure everyone knows their lines and to get the set changes correct… but if you count building set to help the techies then it adds up really fast.”

Everyone is really excited to go see the play. The students think that since Mr. Broeker (The Director) put a twist on the play that it is going to be really good.

Melissa Wells, Senior says, “I think the play will be a hit and go far like Chicago did last year.”

The play started Wednesday, November 13 and goes through the Sunday, November 17. On Sunday,  the 17th the show starts at 2 to about 4:30.
