The Fighting Illini season kicked off on October 24th, 2013 with a huge win against McKendree 101-66. Tracy Abrams will appear to have a breakout season and score a lot of points. The team is full of young prospects that have great potential in the beginning of their careers. They expect to have a great season after they finished with a 23-13 record last year. In both the Big Ten Tournament and the NCAA Tournament tournaments, they couldn’t past the 2nd Round. Head coach Jon Groce stated that he expects to have another remarkable season for the Fighting Illini.

The 2013-2014 started 7-0 after a lost to Georgia Tech in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Illini suffered their first loss of the season to them on December 3rd in Atlanta, Georgia. They expect to get back on the winning track after that L.

Both Administrators Mr. Gourley and Mr. Hall said that the Illinois season is going alright, but they gave one away that they should have won.

They haven’t went deep in the post season since 2005 after their Final Four Appearance. They expect and wish that they can go back and celebrate cutting down the nets and winning the NCAA Tournament.
“Top half of the Big Ten Tournament, finishes 4th-6th. Makes the tournament and makes a push into the semis of the Big Ten Tournament,” said Gourley.

Some of the guys expect to look to have a breakout season, but to me and both the administrators we think Kendrick Nunn, Joseph Betrand, and Rayvonte Rice will have a breakout season.

I expect to see the Fighting Illinois do great things, even though they have a lot of freshman and some upperclassmen
