Gay Marriage Legalized in Illinois

Earlier this semester,  Urbana High School was filled with the smiling faces of students and staff who had heard about the Legalizing of Gay Marriage in Illinois, and were very happy about it.

“I can’t believe it finally happened. I know so many of my friends that will be so happy. They can finally marry who they love, not who people think they should marry,” said Kelsey Smith, Junior.

“If I loved the girl, yeah I would marry her. No matter what people said about her, or our relationship. We’re in love, who cares?” said Max Owens, former Urbana High School senior.

Though many were thrilled about the news, some in Illinois were not.

Springfield Bishop Thomas John Paprocki said that “homosexuality comes from the devil and should be condemned as such.” He plans to mark the occasion with an exorcism over his entire town to “try to rid his home of evil.” according to the Huffington post.

Though many are against it, homosexuals are beginning to plan for their ‘best day ever’.

Just a few hours after state lawmakers approved same-sex marriage in Illinois, Chicago wedding planner Lindsay Parrott started getting her first inquiries for summer weddings.

“I got an email at 11 p.m.,” she said. “Everybody is really excited to be able to do this.” according to the Huffington post.

Keep your rainbow side showing guys, stand tough, soon the world will be yours.
