Bullied NFL Player Speaks Publicly

Jonathan Martin, former NFL player that was bullied, spoke publicly on Wednesday for the first time since he had quit the Miami Dolphins pro-football club.

Martin spoke in  an interview with Tony Dungy on the NBC Broadcasting channel. In this interview, Martin addressed many topics; these topics varying from his potential return to pro football to his love of the game.

Martin said, “I love football. I think that’s been clear all along. … It’s a part of who I am. I don’t think you can question my love for the game. It’s always been there. It’s never left, so honestly, I just cannot wait to get back to playing in the NFL.”

Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, Richie Incognito just recently released some text messages to his attorneys in which Martin reportedly partook in the use of vulgar language himself.

Students here at UHS are following this story carefully as it is a truly unique story. It is not often that a celebrity, let alone a 300 pound lineman, gets bullied.

Junior Katie Carroll said, “I really hope that Martin gets another chance to play, he really deserves it.”

Carroll later went on to say that she hope Incognito doesn’t get a chance to play again. She justified this by saying that bullying is not acceptable on any level.

With all this being said, this is still a very exciting story that is still developing and will be interesting to watch new news keep getting released.
