Fashion Trend: Crop Tops are a Unisex Style

Lately crop tops have become a very popular thing to wear. Crop tops are a shirt that shows a little bit of your midriff. Girls find a lot of ways to wear these shirts: with skirts, jean pants, shorts, sweatpants, almost anything. But a new trend, more so on Twitter than in the UHS Hall, boys are being seen sporting these revealing tops.

Kaitlyn Peters, sophomore, said “I think that boys are aloud to wear whatever they want as long as they are comfortable with wearing it.”

All over Twitter and Instagram people are posting pictures with the #boysincroptops2k14 with the pictures of boys in crop tops. Of course, most of these boys look pretty ridiculous because most of them don’t know how to style these shirts.
CJ Brown, sophomore, said, “If these boys are okay with wearing them then of course they can where whatever they want. In my opinion, though, it only works for some boys but not for others, just like any other clothing item.”

Boys that can pull off this type of shirt then go for it! Maybe ask other people for their opinion on what you are going to wear it with or if it looks good on you in general. If you are dressing for school, however, remember the dress code.
