If you have wondered why posters of careers have popped up throughout UHS, it is because of National College Preparedness Week. One teacher has decided to show students some options in a way that they may not even think of: posters.

That teacher is Amber Cluver, Social Studies teacher. “This week Urbana Schools are celebrating Career and College Readiness Week.  In honor of that week, I felt it is important to spotlight the excellent opportunities that technical/trade jobs can provide for our students seeking a career that doesn’t require a bachelor’s degree,” stated Cluver.

The posters were made by Cluver’s American Studies Social Studies classes as a way of advertising careers students may choose to follow in their futures.

The posters showcase different jobs such as Veterinary Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Physical Therapy Assistant and more.

As you move from class to class, take a look at the posters, and start planning for your future!
