December 3rd marked the annual Urbana High School Richard M. Nixon Title IX volleyball game, formerly known as Macho Volleyball. The game was played at the Oscar Adams Gymnasium in support of Habitat for Humanity. This game was played out amongst males from both the Class of 2019 (Seniors) and Class of 2020 (Juniors) to see which class is superior and capable of playing the staff team in the final.

During the first match between the juniors and seniors, the juniors won the first set after a major comeback from 7 points, but the following set, the tables turned with the seniors coming out victorious. This match came down to the third and final set of 15 points. The seniors came out with a huge lead and maintained it to win the match in 3 sets.

For the championship, the seniors played the staff. The seniors came out with a lot of confidence from beating the juniors which carried out to a blowout win for the seniors in the first match. In the second, the staff began to work better together and finally get into a rhythm. After a close set, the staff emerged victorious but with the help of Mr. Foley and Mr. Dutton on the scoreboard by adding extra points to the staff.

At the beginning of the final set, a more disorganized Senior team went down 7 points in a 15 point set. Although after a lot of conflict and arguing with each other, Coach Kiara Thomas helped the team gather themselves to eventually win the set and overall match.

Overall, it was a great event that made a lot of money for Habitat for Humanity.
