On Friday, November 5, 2010, Urbana High School junior students took the ACT prep test in preparation for the actual PSAE ACT exam that will be given on Wednesday, April 27th, 2011.

The juniors were required to take the test on the third floor of the building and were assigned to a specific classroom based on alphabetical order. A number of juniors are actually looking forward to taking the test, like UHS student Hannah Kahai. She says, “Taking the test would give juniors an idea of what the real ACT will be like, and would definitely benefit the students’ testing abilities.”

Although there might be some students who are looking forward for the test, the long hours of extreme thinking seem to throw off students.

“I’m not really looking forward for the test because I’m not really the type of person who likes really long tests,” says UHS junior Samantha Mwenda.

The ACT practice test is by far one of the most important tools students could use in getting ready for the actual one. To prepare for this practice test, exam-takers should get a good night rest, a nutritious breakfast, and a focused mind.

UHS offers a special ACT prep class, which is taught by an instructor named Jason Franklin, the most popular ACT Prep instructor in the State of Illinois. These sessions are going to cover the overall ACT test and practice the test-taking techniques that can help students ensure better scores on the real ACT.
