Isaac Juarez is a normal teenage ‘gamer.’ Although video games have been a big part of his life, he has had more time to enjoy them recently due to quarantine.

The 16-year-old gamer started playing video games at the age of 9 and has loved them ever since. He enjoys many types of video games but by far his favorite are the ones where he gets to make his own choices that affect the story of the game.

Like many people, quarantine has impacted our everyday lives. We have gotten bored by staying inside. However, if you find the right form of entertainment, you might just enjoy a small break to get all the stress out with video games.

But from all the video games that are in the world, which one should you pick?

“Well, a certain game that came out this year that I would recommend if you have a PS4 is Ghost of Tsushima. Not only is it a beautiful game that looks like Japanese art but packs a lot in a story,” says Juarez.

Over the years, video games have been presented as violent and ‘unhealthy;’ however, not all games are like this and in fact, there are many which give positive messages to the audience.

“Some like Red Dead 2, when (anonymous) says ‘revenge is a fool’s game,’ he’s right. Vengeance isn’t always the answer, it leads to even bigger problems,” says Juarez, who also says that other games show the bond of friendships and love rather than death.

Not all video games include negative messages, some might even teach valuable lessons. It is just how an individual sees the game and what they do with it that is important.

Video games are also not a waste of time as they are often said to be. During this pandemic, we are more and more away from the outside world. With video games, having a view of that world is still possible. Sure, it’s not real life, but they still have a beautiful view of the outside which we can’t really enjoy much nowadays.

“What I enjoy are stories that let you roam around enjoying the open lands,” says Juarez.

There are many things to like about video games. They can entertain you for hours and help you not go insane, especially during these times. You can play on your own or even interact with friends you probably haven’t seen in months. All you have to do is get the game, grab the controller and start a new world or a new story.
